Free Cyanotype Tea Light Template

Free Cyanotype Tea Light template and how to print on velum (1).jpg

I spent the summer learning how to make Cyanotype prints with botanicals. I now am the proud owner of a very large stash of prints. I’ve created a template using one of my prints for a wine glass, tea light. The tea lights works best if printed on vellum paper. I have trouble getting my printer to grab vellum paper so I have a little trick that I’m sharing below (and in my video).

The first thing you need to do is print the template. You can use plain copy paper or vellum paper. The vellum is more transparent and the battery operated light with glow through the white leaves.

If you wish to print the template on vellum and your printer is not cooperating try this:

  1. Using washi tape, tape the edge of the vellum to the edge of a sheet of copy paper.

  2. Insert the taped edge first into your printer. I use an HP Tango Printer.

Printing on vellum can be tricky.

Try taping the vellum to copy paper first.

I use the HP Instant Ink program. It’s very affordable and my ink shows up automatically when I’m running low.

Cut out the template and overlap the short edge to make a cone. Use double-sided tape to create a cone.

Place your tea light cover on a wine glass. Use BATTERY operated lights ONLY!!!

These cute little tea lights would be perfect for creating a cozy table setting or set up a few around your bathtub!
